McKeon is a member club of USA Gymnastics, the national governing body of youth gymnastics in the United States. Most of our competitive gymnasts are chosen from our class programs as they are designed to serve as a building block to our teams. Students compete within the state of Massachusetts as well as regionally and nationally, and train between 6 and 18 hours per week. We currently offer USAG Women’s Developmental Programs Level 2 – 9.
Compulsory (Levels 2, 3, 4, 5)
All gymnasts will have the same routines as designated by USAG. These gymnasts compete in local competitions and will have the opportunity to qualify to State Competitions.
Optional (Levels 6 to 10)
Each gymnast will have her own choreographed routine. It is the gymnast’s responsibility to work with the choreographer to develop the routine. The gymnast is responsible for fees charged by the choreographer as well as the music.
USAG Xcel Team Program
This program is for girls who are looking for an alternative competitive program offering individual flexibility to coaches and gymnasts. The goal of Xcel is to provide gymnasts of varying abilities and commitment levels the opportunity for a rewarding gymnastics experience. Xcel like Developmental Program has different levels (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond) that the gymnast can progress through. Gymnasts who are in the Xcel Program often do fewer competitions than their WDP counterparts and it is less of a financial and time commitment.
